Singapore Airlines Is Upgrading Its Lounges at One of the Best Airports in the World

  • Singapore Airlines is overhauling its lounges in Changi Airport’s Terminal 2.
  • New amenities will include live cooking demonstrations and significantly more space.
  • The renovations will happen in waves and be completed by mid-2027.

If you’re flying to or through Singapore, a shiny new lounge experience is coming your way.

Singapore’s Changi Airport Terminal 2 will get a facelift, with renovations on its SilverKris and KrisFlyer Gold lounges beginning in April 2025 and set to be finished by mid-2027. The overhaul will be carried out in phases to minimize disruption. Singapore Airlines is investing $45 million into the revamp, which will include 50 percent more space.

“This significant investment underscores Singapore Airlines’ unwavering commitment to elevating the end-to-end travel experience for our customers,” Yeoh Phee Teik, senior vice president customer experience at Singapore Airlines, said in a statement shared with Travel + Leisure. “Building on the success of our Terminal 3 lounges, we are extending our signature hospitality and thoughtfully curated offerings to Terminal 2. This upgrade reaffirms our continued dedication to providing a seamless, world-class experience that meets the high expectations of our discerning customers.”

The First-Class SilverKris Lounge will feature live cooking demonstrations of Singaporean, Asian, and Western cuisine, as well as a self-service buffet. There will also be baristas on call in the morning hours.

The Business-Class SilverKris Lounge interior will be expanded and offer more varied comfortable seating options. There will be an expanded self-service buffet, a full-service bar, and signature cocktails in the evening. The KrisFlyer Gold Lounge will soon include in-lounge shower suites, so travelers can refresh before their next flights.

Singapore Changi Airport is overall known for the slick amenities it offers travelers. The facility was just named the best airport in the world for 2025 by air travel rating firm Skytrax, which lauded the hub for its 10-story shopping center, tropical gardens, and indoor waterfall.

Outside the airport, Singapore is known for its year-round warm weather, gastronomy, and high-end hotels, including the Capella Singapore.
