The former Rangers loanee is making waves in La Liga while another former temporary Ibrox man faces a big fight as an interim boss

Former Rangers loanee Fabio Silva has been grabbing the headlines at Las Palmas in La Liga

Former Rangers loanee Fabio Silva has become a man in demand ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Wolves striker, 22, failed to impress on loan at Ibrox last term and netted just six times in 25 appearances after arriving amid a fanfare in January. But the Portuguese has dazzled for Las Palmas in Spain’s top flight this season, scoring 10 goals.

Now Wolves are set to reap the rewards of his impressive form as Eintracht Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Wolfsburg, Villarreal and Sevilla are all in the hunt to sign him.

They had struggled to find buyers for the Portugal striker, who cost ÂŁ35million in 2020 and was then loaned to Anderlecht, PSV and Rangers.

Silva has also acknowledged interest from Atletico Madrid in the past week, calling the Spanish giants “among the best in the world”. His contract ends in 2026.

Meanwhile, Connor Barron insists Rangers’ season is NOT over. The Light Blues were eliminated from the Europa League at the quarter-final stage after defeat to Athletic Bilbao.

It leaves Barry Ferguson’s men out of contention for any silverware and effectively ends their campaign.

However, Barron insists with five league games to go, including a derby clash with Celtic, the players have to show what they are all about and pick up maximum points.

He said: “I don’t agree the season is over, not at all. Every game at Rangers, you’ve got to win and that’s what we have to do in the last five.

“We’ve still got our jobs to do, as always, and the last five games are big for us. We have to show what we’re all about and it’s our job to go and win those five games.

“How do I sum up my first season at Rangers? I’d love to be sitting here in the next round of the Europa League, having won a few trophies and pushing for a title.

“But unfortunately it isn’t the case. Looking back is something I’ll do when I’m retired.

“I just need to focus on the here and now at Rangers because I’ve got a job to do between now and the end of the season.

“We’ve got to win every game now. Nothing changes in that regard, that’s our aim.”

Aaron Ramsey speaks as Cardiff interim boss ahead of huge game against Oxford United

Elsewhere, Rangers loan flop Aaron Ramsey has told the Cardiff faithful ‘we will give you everything’ after being appointed interim boss.

The Wales international takes charge of the final three English Championship games as he looks to bring that spark that will keep his side in the second tier.

They are currently in the relegation zone – one point from safety – and face a huge Easter Monday clash with Oxford United before another home game with play-off chasing West Brom and a final day trip to Norwich City.

Speaking ahead of his first match in charge, Ramsey said: “The fans are huge for us. I’m really looking forward to seeing our fans getting right behind the team and playing their part. They’ve been really patient with us this season, and I thank them for that.

“Hopefully now in this last three games, starting on Monday, they can get right behind us and help us get over the line. I know what it’s like to be a Cardiff fan, and I can relate to them.

“Please get behind this team now, because we’ll give you everything on Monday and for the remaining two games.

“It’s all about togetherness and sticking by each other now. We need to get out of the situation we’re in, there’s no two ways about that. Hopefully we’ll have something to celebrate at the end of the season.”
