The hitman fired Jimmy Thelin and Co back to Hampden next month after his extra-time winner against Hearts
Hampden hero Oday Dabbagh has admitted there is a chance the Scottish Cup Final will be his last game as an Aberdeen player.
The Palestine international came off the bench to grab the glory, as his late extra-time winner sank nine man Hearts and sent Jimmy Thelin’s side into next month’s final.
Dabbagh is currently on-loan from Belgium side Charleroi although the Dons have the option to sign him before his short-term Pittodrie deal expires at the end of the season.
The 26-year-old admitted his long-term future is still very much up in the air.
Dabbagh, when asked if the cup final could be his last Aberdeen appearance, answered: “Yes, maybe. Maybe no.
“Yes, they (Aberdeen) have an option. I’m am just focused to score and to do my job and we’ll see at the end of the season.
“It’s not my job, you know. I don’t think a lot about the loan.
“I just came here to enjoy the football, to enjoy the moment with the fans, with everyone here. “That’s what I’m doing and we’ll see at the end of the season.”
The striker will leave his future to his agent and he’ll focus on doing as well as he can for Aberdeen.
He explained: “I have my agent, he works and they have other things to do.
“’I’m just focused on the football and to be focused inside the pitch, and that’s it. That’s what I’m doing.”
The Dons signed Thelin in the January window from the Belgian side. Dabbagh’s contract with Charleroi was set to expire this summer but they have taken up an option to extend his deal until the summer of 2026.
It protects them in the transfer market if Aberdeen don’t buy him. Dabbagh confirmed “Yes, (Charleroi have given me a new deal) until 2026.”
He has now netted four goals in his Aberdeen career. He got two previously in the cup against Queen’s Park and also got another in the league against Kilmarnock. A lot of his appearances have been off the bench but he has remained focused and ready.
Dabbagh admitted: “I have always had to be patient and to keep working. “You have to trust the process.
“Yeah, until now, yeah, everything’s going well. So I hope to continue like this until the end of the season.”
