Nike accidentally LEAK next season's Chelsea kit one day before official launch in awkward social media gaffe

Nike appeared to leak images of Chelsea’s 2025-26 kit one day before its official launch in a quickly deleted social media post.

The sportswear behemoth has made kit for the west London side since Chelsea terminated their partnership with adidas in 2016.

The Blues were five years through a 10-year deal with the German kit-maker, but called time on the agreement by paying its £40million termination clause.

October of that year saw Chelsea make history with the largest commercial deal in their history, worth a then-record-breaking £900m over 15 years.

But the Premier League side are likely to be less than thrilled with this week’s developments, which may have spoilt a much-hyped reveal of next season’s kit planned for Friday.

Nike shared the post on social media site X (formerly Twitter), with the caption: ‘Recharged in electric blue. Trimmed in brilliant white. Worn with West London pride.

Nike appeared to announce their latest kit collaboration with Chelsea one whole day too early

Pictures of the new kit in the swiftly deleted post hinted at an update colour and new collar

The lightly patterned shirt seems to feature a light honeycomb print redolent of goal netting

‘Introducing the 2025/26 Chelsea…’

The images which accompanied the brief announcement appeared to show a Chelsea blue shirt with a white v-neck collack, and a faint honeycomb design on the chest of the jersey redolent of goal netting.

But within minutes, the sportswear company realised their mistake, and swiftly deleted the post.

On their own social media posts building up to the launch, Chelsea have posted a series of pictures of a branded coffee cup, along with the launch date 16.05.25.

The pared-down shirt design appears to come in stark contrast to this season’s ‘blue flame design’, which features swirling white accents on the electric blue shirt, orange trim on the badge and Nike logo, and an orange stripe on the sleeves.

Chelsea have a front of shirt sponsor until the end of the season but it will come to an end then

But one feature the new kit does share with the one that the Blues have worn for the majority of the campaign is a lack of sponsor.

Chelsea had been without a shirt sponsor for much of the season after failing to ink a new deal ahead of its kick-off.

Recent weeks have seen the Blues sign a short-term deal with Middle Eastern luxury real estate company, but this agreement will wrap up with the final match of the Premier League season.
