Damian Lillard left just minutes into the Milwaukee Bucks’ playoff matchup with the Indiana Pacers on Sunday night due to an apparent ankle injury.
Lillard went down early in the first quarter of the Game 4 battle at Fiserv Forum, and had to be helped off the court. The Bucks then ruled Lillard out before the start of the second quarter, ending his night early, according to NBA insider Chris Haynes. Further specifics are not yet known.

Lillard stumbled while trying to catch a pass at the top of the key, and then he immediately fell down and reached for his ankle after he successfully pushed the ball away. Lillard was clearly in a lot of pain as he remained down on the floor for quite some time. He was eventually helped up and made his way off of the court without putting much weight on his left leg at all. He went straight back to the locker room.
Lillard’s injury came just two games after he made his return from a right calf injury. He went down in mid-March with deep-vein thrombosis in his right calf, . It was the same condition that San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama was dealing with in his right shoulder, too. Lillard was the clot. But remarkably, . He had 14 points and seven assists in his return, and then he had seven points and five assists in what was a rough shooting night in Milwaukee’s Game 3 win on Friday.
Lillard had two assists and two rebounds, and shot 0-2 from the field, when he went down on Sunday. The Pacers took a 30-24 lead after the opening quarter.
