Millions of residents in Mexico City and 10 other states evacuated buildings on Tuesday during a nationwide earthquake drill.
Alarms sounded across the Mexican capital as part of the First National Drill 2025, prompting residents to carry out emergency evacuation exercises.
The exercise, aimed at improving preparedness and response times in the event of a real earthquake, was organised by the Ministry of Security and Citizen Protection.
Authorities said around 30 million people participated in the simulation, which involved the activation of the Seismic Alert System across multiple regions vulnerable to seismic activity.
