Manchester United have won the race to sign Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres ahead of Arsenal, according to Football Insider.
The Red Devils are planning for a busy summer transfer window and a marquee striker could be one of the main priorities for the hierarchy.
Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres has been heavily linked with Arsenal and it has been claimed that the club have a strong interest in signing him.
However, Football Insider claim that United have the upper hand in the pursuit and an agreement to sign the striker is almost done.
Gyokeres has been in extraordinary form for the Portuguese champions and he has bagged 52 goals and 12 assists from just 48 games this term.
He has a release clause worth £85 million in his contract but there is a gentleman’s agreement for him to leave for around £60 million.
United have been linked with a surprise move out of the blue. It remains to be seen whether there is any truth to the story from Football Insider.
