Manchester United are considering a surprise move for Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah this summer, according to Sky Sports.
The Red Devils are likely to make multiple signings ahead of next season. They could pursue a new centre-back in the transfer market.
Tah will be a free-agent when his contract with Leverkusen expires on June 30 and United are one of the clubs keen on landing him.
Bayern Munich have been long-term admirers of the 29-year-old, but they have not made any progress at the current point of time.
Barcelona have also been credited with an interest, but the Catalan giants may not provide a significant salary amid their FFP issues.
This could put United in the front seat to land the defender.
The club are expected to offload Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelof when their respective contracts conclude at the end of June.
United will save around £185,000 per week from their exits and could utilise those wages to persuade Tah to join them on a free.
Tah earns only £42000 per week at the German heavyweights.
