Lionel Messi closes in on shock new contract with David Beckham’s Inter Miami

Lionel Messi is reportedly close to agreeing a contract extension with Inter Miami that would keep the soccer legend in Major League Soccer for at least one more year. 

The World Cup winner, 37, joined Inter Miami in the summer of 2023 in a blockbuster move for soccer in the United States.

His existing deal is up at the end of 2025 but, according to The Athletic, he is expected to sign a deal that would ensure he will be in Miami when the team moves into its new stadium in 2026.
