Motherwell will have a fight on their hands to retain the wonderkid’s services in the summer
Ligue 1 side Strasbourg are reportedly the latest club to express an interest in Motherwell starlet Lennon Miller – and will use their links with Chelsea to watch the player up close and personal.
Scotland U21 international Miller is being coveted by several top clubs across the continent. Celtic made an inquiry about the teenager back in January while scouts from elite Premier League sides including Liverpool and Manchester City have also watched the youngster in action.
And according to the Scottish Sun, Strasbourg – who are a part of the BlueCo group spearheaded by Chelsea owner Todd Boehly, are also set to go on a scouting mission to assess the 18-year-old.
They claim that Chelsea officials will take in Motherwell’s Premiership clash with St Johnstone on Saturday and then pass on the reports to the French side, who are just two points outside the top four in Ligue 1.
The Premier League giants have used their relationship with Strasbourg to their advantage and currently have talented Brazilian midfielder Andrey Santos and Serbian international goalkeeper Dorde Petrovic out on loan at the Ligue 1 side.
Miller – who has captained Motherwell on several occasions this season, most notably in the Premier Sports semi final defeat to Rangers at Hampden – is the front runner to win the Premiership’s Young Player of the Year award.
The talented teen – who earned a call-up to Steve Clarke’s senior Scotland squad last month – is also attracting interest from Udinese in Serie A and Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga, with Motherwell bosses facing a fight on their hands to retain his services this summer.
