MonsterVerse fans knew a new “Godzilla x Kong” film was on the way, but now they know when it’ll hit theaters. And the upcoming blockbuster has an ominous new subtitle, too: “Supernova.”

Warner Bros. debuted a new teaser for the film today to announce it’s now in production, and when it’ll arrive in theaters: March 26, 2027. No word on official plot details for the sixth film in the MonsterVerse series, but it’s a direct sequel to last year’s “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire,” and sees Dan Stevens reprise his role from that film as Trapper.
Outside of Stevens, though, it’s a whole new cast list for “Supernova.” Kaitlyn Dever leads the ensemble, which also includes Jack O’Connell, Delroy Lindo, Matthew Modine, Alycia Debnam-Carey, and Sam Neill (yes, the “Jurassic Park” Sam Neill; some nice meta-casting for the dino fans out there).
Grant Sputore directs “Supernova,” taking over for Adam Wingard, who directed “The New Empire” and its 2021 predecessor. David Callaham and Michael Lloyd Green co-pen the film’s script. “Supernova” is a Legendary Pictures production.
Take a look at the new teaser for “Godzilla x Kong: Supernova” below, which features a Monarch officer’s computer getting an emergency alert about a Titan sighting. To play along, why not call Monarch’s Emergency Hotline? The # is: (240) MON-ARCH.
As noted above, “Godzilla x Kong: Supernova” hits theaters on March 26, 2027.
