Flying cars, robots, Jetsons spage-age retro-futurism vibes? Yep, “Fantastic Four: First Steps,” which introduces Marvel’s first family into the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the first time ever, is set in an alternate universe where the 1960s is something out of “The Jetsons.” So yeah, there’s no Spider-Man, Captain America, or Avengers in this universe, but as we know, “Avengers: Doomsday” is coming, and by the end of the movie, the new Fantastic Four team will be in the MCU proper. How? That’s unclear for now, but we’ll find out this summer.

Showcasing Marvel’s First Family, the Silver Surfer, the robot H.E.R.B.I.E., and the retro-futuristic, 1960s vibe of Marvel Studios’ “The Fantastic Four: First Steps,” a new trailer and poster have been released by Disney today.
The film stars Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as
Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing.
The action adventure also stars Ralph Ineson, Julia Garner, Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, Natasha Lyonne and Sarah Niles. “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” is directed by Matt Shakman, produced by Kevin Feige, and executive produced by Louis D’Esposito, Grant Curtis, and Tim Lewis.

Opening in theaters July 25, Marvel Studios’ “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” introduces Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm/Human Torch Joseph Quinn) and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) as they face their most daunting challenge yet. Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner). And if Galactus’ plan to devour the entire planet and everyone on it weren’t bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal.
