Harry Kane scored on his return from suspension as newly-crowned Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich won 2-0 at home to Borussia Monchengladbach.

Kane, the top scorer in the German top flight this season, struck after half an hour at the Allianz Arena to give Bayern the lead before another former Premier League player, Michael Olise, netted late on to secure the victory.

Vincent Kompany’s side officially became title winners last week after defending champions Bayer Leverkusen – whose manager, Xabi Alonso, revealed he would be departing at the end of the campaign – failed to beat Freiburg on Sunday.

Elsewhere in the Bundesliga, Freiburg kept their hopes of a top-four finish alive with a 2-1 victory over already-relegated Holstein Kiel.

Lasse Rosenboom had given Holstein the lead but goals from Johan Manzambi and Lucas Holer turned the game in favour of Freiburg, who move four points clear of fifth-placed Dortmund.

Mainz bolstered their chances of a top-six finish following a convincing 4-1 win over bottom side Bochum, while the two other teams battling to break into the top six, RB Leipzig and Werder, played out a goalless stalemate.

In the other game, Heidenheim picked up a valuable three points with a 3-0 win at Union Berlin.

Meanwhile, in Bundesliga 2, Hamburg clinched promotion back to the top flight with a convincing 6-1 over Ulm.

Serie A

In Italy, fourth-placed Juventus and Lazio, just one place below them in the table, drew 1-1 after Matias Vecino scored a last-gasp equaliser at Stadio Olimpico.

Kolo Muani gave The Old Lady the lead shortly before teammate Pierre Kalulu saw red on the hour mark.

Vecino then levelled in the 96th minute for the hosts, leaving both sides on 64 points.

Como beat Cagliari 3-1 as Cesc Fabregas’ side look to secure a top finish this season, while Empoli picked up a vital win in their bid for Serie A survival after overcoming Parma, who had a man sent off, 2-1.

LaLiga

In La Liga, Alexander Sorloth scored four times in just 23 first-half minutes to give Atletico Madrid a commanding 4-0 win over Real Sociedad.

Sorloth scored after seven minutes before scoring three more before the half-hour mark as Diego Simeone’s side look to secure third spot in the table.

Villarreal maintained their push for a top-five finish with a 1-0 victory over Girona, courtesy of a late winner from Etta Eyong.

The win moves The Yellow Submarine level on points with fourth-placed Athletic.

Elsewhere, Celta Vigo moved back up to seventh after a thrilling 3-2 home win over Sevilla. Ilaix Moriba gave Celta the lead before a dramatic last few first-half minutes that saw Marcos Alonso sent off for the hosts and Sevilla draw level through Nemanja Gudelj.

Oscar Mingueza restored Celta Vigo’s advantage after the break and Borja Iglesias added a third in second-half stoppage before Kike Salas pulled one back seven minutes later.

Valencia ran out comfortable 3-0 winners over Getafe, while Mallorca overcame Valladolid 2-1.

Ligue 1

In the French top flight, the match between Le Havre and Marseille was halted shortly after the hour mark when fans stormed onto the pitch.

Marseille were winning 1-0 when both teams were removed from the field of play before the game was eventually restarted 20 minutes later.

Le Havre then equalised but Marseille restored their advantage with five minutes remaining before adding a third in stoppage time to maintain second spot in the table.

Just below them, third-placed Monaco ran out 2-0 winners over Lyon, Takumi Minamino and Denis Zakaria scoring the goals in the second-half.

Champions PSG backed up their progression to the Champions League final with a 4-1 victory over Montpellier.

Goncalo Ramos bagged a second-half hat-trick while Senny Mayulu scored the other for Luis Enrique’s side.

Elsewhere, there were defeats for top-six hopefuls Nice and Strasbourg at the hands of Rennes and Angers respectively.

There were wins for Brest over Lille, and for St Etienne over Reims, while Nantes and Auxerre played out a 1-1 draw, as did Toulouse and Lens.
