Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has revealed that Christopher Nkunku could miss the Premier League clash against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
The Blues faced Djurgarden in the first leg of the Conference League yesterday. The club cruised to a comfortable 4-1 win on the road.
Nkunku was absent for the game with a knock. Speaking in today’s presser, Maresca acknowledged that the Frenchman remains doubtful to face Liverpool.
He said: “Christo Nkunku has a small problem. When we get back to Cobham, the medical staff will tell me how he is and what his status is.”
The Frenchman joined the Blues from RB Leipzig with a huge reputation two years ago, but he has struggled to cope with the Premier League demands.
Nkunku has barely played as a number 10 due to Cole Palmer‘s presence. He has often been deployed as the main striker by the manager.
He has been far from impressive in the role with several big chances missed. The forward is expected to be sold by the Blues soon.
