On April 19, 1995, 18 citizens of Edmond, Oklahoma were lost in the terrorist attack on the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City. The bombing killed 168 people and was the deadliest act of domestic terrorism when it took place. This memorial to the tragedy is a quiet spot of reflection.
The structure of the memorial overlooks a small ravine in a corner of Mitch Park, a popular spot for running and skateboarding. Many people don’t even seem to notice the memorial, but it tells the tale of those who were lost in the bombing and ensures that their memory is forever tied to the community they were taken from.
