The new King of Naples will be presented his award before the clash with Genoa as he bids for title glory in his first season
The Scott McTominay story in Napoli is simply incredible.
His rise to the King of Naples in less than one season has been something he could have only dreamed of and as he bids to taste Serie A glory with just three games to go he’s picked up another personal accolade and with that wrote his name into history.
He’s a real fans’ favourite and has already been immortalised with a stunning shrine while one fan showed the passion the supporters have for McFratm – a Scottish twist on the phrase for brother – after inking a permanent tribute to the Scotland star on his skin.
It doesn’t stop there for McTominay with his own PIZZA created for him and now he’s been named EA Sports FC Player of the Month for April and will get his hands on the award against Genoa this weekend.
Speaking about the midfielder, Lega Serie A CEO Luigi De Siervo said: “Scott McTominay’s impact on the league has been ‘devastating’ , proving to be an absolute top player.
“The ideal prototype of the ‘box-to-box’ midfielder, decisive in both phases of the game.”
The Scotland star – who plays alongside countryman Billy Gilmour – netted five goals in April alone and put Antonio Conte and his troops in the driving seat for Scudetto glory.
Napoli have just three games left to play with two home games with Genoa and Cagliari with a trip to Parma sandwiched in-between.
Winning the vote also means he becomes the first Scotsman to win the Serie A Player of the Month gong.
