The Celtic boss is up for manager of the year but faces another battle with John McGlynn to land the gong
Brendan Rodgers, John McGlynn and David Gray have been named as the three contenders for the Scottish Managers and Coaches Association manager of the year award.
The Celtic boss has been all-conquering since his return to Scottish football but was beaten to last year’s award by Falkirk boss McGlynn who led the Bairns to an undefeated League One title.
And the two will battle it out again this time with David Gray,, who has recovered from a tough start at Hibs to lead them into a third-place battle, for the top individual gong.
McGlynn has followed up Falkirk’s title win last season and has them top of the Championship, meaning a win over Hamilton on the final day, or anything that matches Livingston’s result, will see them seal historic back-to-back promotions this Friday night.
Rodgers meanwhile has already added two trophies to his burgeoning cabinet and the Scottish Cup Final against Aberdeen on May 24 could see him seal yet another Treble.
Gray seemed unlikely to be up for this award after Hibs’ dire start but they stuck by him and have been imperious this side of the calendar year.
Hibs’ Grant Scott, Rangers’ Jo Potter, Glasgow City’s Leanne Ross and Motherwell’s Paul Brownlie are up for the SWPL award.
