Bayer Leverkusen are reportedly keen on signing Manchester United forward Jadon Sancho after his season-long loan at Chelsea.
The 25-year-old joined the Blues on loan on deadline day last summer with an obligation to buy for £25m if they finished in the top 14 in the Premier League.
As part of the deal, the London giants also agreed on a £5m penalty clause to cancel the agreement. The Blues have now decided to pay the compensation package.
Meanwhile, Mirror claim that Leverkusen are interested in Sancho as a replacement for Florian Wirtz, who could join Manchester City or Bayern Munich this summer.
The former German champions are reluctant to meet Sancho’s £250,000 per week wages but United hope to make the numbers work by selling the forward for just £20m.
Borussia Dortmund are also interested in re-signing Sancho but their prospects of recruiting him could depend on qualification for the Champions League.
Dortmund head into the final matchday in the Bundesliga in fifth. They are one point behind fourth-placed and three adrift of third-placed Eintracht, who meet each other.
