Spider-Man 4 Adds The Bear Star to Cast of MCU Movie

The Bear’s Liza Colón-Zayas has joined the cast of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, also known as Spider-Man 4.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is the forthcoming Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures movie that will once again see Tom Holland reprise his role as Peter Parker. The film is currently scheduled to be released in July 2026.

Per Deadline, Colón-Zayas has joined the cast of Spider-Man 4, though it is not yet clear who she will be playing.

Colón-Zayas is best known for playing Tina Marrero in The Bear, which earned her a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series in 2024. Having appeared in television shows such as Law & Order, Titans, and David Makes Man, Colón-Zayas’s filmography includes 2006’s United 93, 2008’s Righteous Kill, 2016’s The Purge: Election Year, 2016’s Collateral Beauty, 2023’s Cat Person, and 2024’s IF.

What else do we know about Spider-Man 4?

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is being directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, who previously helmed the MCU Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings movie, which was released in 2021. Cretton was also attached to direct the fourth Avengers movie for a time, back when it was called Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, but stepped down from the position in November 2023.

According to Deadline, Zendaya and Jacob Batalon are both expected to return as MJ and Ned in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, while Stranger Things’ Sadie Sink has been cast in an undisclosed role. Official plot details for the movie remain under wraps at this time.

Sony’s Amy Pascal and Marvel’s Kevin Feige are both producing the film, which will begin production later this year.

Spider-Man 4 will be released in United States theaters on July 31, 2026, putting it in-between Avengers: Doomsday (May 1, 2026) and Avengers: Secret Wars (May 7, 2027).
