Aimee Lou Wood recently opened up about the support she received from Patrick Schwarzenegger during her first Met Gala appearance. Wood admitted feeling nervous about attending the iconic event and how Schwarzenegger helped her.

Aimee Lou Wood attended the Met Gala for the first time on May 5, along with her White Lotus co-star Patrick Schwarzenegger. The event was held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and it followed the theme “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.”
Wood admitted she was nervous about attending the high-profile event, but Schwarzenegger’s presence helped ease her nerves throughout the evening. In an interview with Good Morning America, she said, “Then we were both like, ‘Yeah, we need to go in the car together,’ and so we made it work.” She also added, “And as soon as I knew that, I thought, ‘I can do this’” (via PEOPLE).
Although Schwarzenegger was not new to the Met Gala, he acknowledged that he still experiences nerves before such prestigious events. Speaking to Variety, he shared that he reached out to Wood as soon as he heard she would be attending.
The actor said, “I heard Aimee was coming and I immediately texted her, and I said, ‘Can we please go together? I’m so nervous.’” He recalled that Wood immediately agreed and had been thinking the same thing.
Schwarzenegger described the arrangement as “perfect,” noting that it helped them both feel less overwhelmed. The two two coordinated their plan. Schwarzenegger started getting ready around 5.15 p.m. and headed to Wood’s hotel by 6. Meanwhile, she began getting ready at noon.
Wood and Schwarzenegger were not the only actors of The White Lotus cast present at the 2025 Met Gala. Walton Goggins and Lisa also made their debut appearances at the event.
