Legends Runtime Revealed, Will Be the Shortest Movie in the Franchise

The runtime for Karate Kid: Legends has been revealed.

Directed by Jonathan Entwistle, Karate Kid: Legends will be released in United States theaters later this month. The fifth film entry in the Karate Kid franchise, the new film stars Jackie Chan as Mr. Han, Ralph Macchio as Daniel LaRusso, and Ben Wang as Li Fong.

What is the runtime of Karate Kid: Legends?

According to AMC Theaters’ website, Karate Kid: Legends has a runtime of 1 hour and 34 minutes, or 94 minutes.

This makes it the shortest film in the Karate Kid franchise thus far. The 1984 Karate Kid movie came in at 127 minutes, while 1986’s The Karate Kid Part II was 113 minutes. The Karate Kid Part III, which was released in 1989, had a 111-minute runtime, and 1994’s The Next Karate Kid was 107 minutes long. The 2010 Karate Kid movie, meanwhile, is the longest of the bunch at 140 minutes.

“Karate Kid: Legends unites the iconic martial arts masters of one of the most beloved film franchises of all time to tell a completely new story full of action and heart,” the synopsis for the movie reads. “When kung fu prodigy Li Fong (Wang) relocates to New York City with his mother to attend a prestigious new school, he finds solace in a new friendship with a classmate and her father. But his newfound peace is short-lived after he attracts unwanted attention from a formidable local karate champion. Driven by a desire to defend himself, Li embarks on a journey to enter the ultimate karate competition. Guided by the wisdom of his kung fu teacher, Mr. Han (Chan), and the legendary Karate Kid, Daniel LaRusso (Macchio), Li merges their unique styles to prepare for an epic martial arts showdown.”

Karate Kid: Legends will be released in United States theaters on May 30, 2025.
