Netflix has officially enlisted a Brat Pack member to join the Wednesday Season 2 cast for the upcoming return of the popular coming-of-age supernatural series. The next installment will be divided into two parts, with Part 1 debuting on August 6 and Part 2 set for a September 3 release.
“Wednesday Addams returns to prowl the Gothic halls of Nevermore Academy, where fresh foes and woes await,” reads the official logline for Season 2. “This season, Wednesday must navigate family, friends, and old adversaries, propelling her into another year of delightfully dark and kooky mayhem. Armed with her signature razor-sharp wit and deadpan charm, Wednesday is also plunged into a new bone-chilling supernatural mystery.”
Who is joining the Wednesday Season 2 cast?
The Breakfast Club alum Anthony Michael Hall has signed on for an undisclosed role in Wednesday Season 2. This marks Hall’s reunion project with director Tim Burton, after working together in 1990’s gothic romance movie Edward Scissorhands, which was led by Johnny Depp and Winona Ryder. Hall will be joing returning cast members Jenna Ortega as titular character, Emma Myers as Enid, Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams, Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams, Victor Dorobantu as Thing, Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley Addams, Hunter Doohan as Tyler, Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester, Joy Sunday as Bianca, Moosa Mostafa as Eugene, Georgie Farmer as Ajax, and more.
The coming-of-age supernatural comedy is executive produced and directed by Tim Burton (Beetlejuice, Corpse Bride), with Ortega now set as a producer for Season 2. Besides Hall, the next installment will also introduce new cast members Billie Piper, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter, Noah B. Taylor, Steve Buscemi, Joanna Lumley, Thandiwe Newton, Frances O’Connor, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo, and Joonas Suotamo, with Christopher Lloyd and Lady Gaga. The Back to the Future vet originally portrayed Fester Addams in the original live-action movies, where he co-starred alongside Anjelica Huston and Raúl Juliá.
