Sebastian Stan recently spoke with Entertainment Tonight at the Los Angeles premiere of Thunderbolts*. During the interview, ET asked Stan if he was “ready” for Mackie to see his new bald look. Stan was also asked Stan what kind of reaction he’s expecting Mackie to have after he sees the new look.

“Oh…he’s gonna, yeah he’s gonna make fun of it, so much” Stan said. ET then reassured Stan that his bald look was “good.” The Romanian-born actor then remarked that Mackie, who is “witty,” would “get on” his “case” for the bald look.

Moreover, during the interview, ET and Stan discussed Anthony Mackie possibly showing up at the Thunderbolts* LA premiere to surprise them. Mackie had previously interuppted Stan’s ET interview following his Golden Globes win for A Different Man in January.

Stan revealed that his bald cut was for a movie he was doing, admitting that it was “totally great to switch it up.” While he did not name the film, it’s possible that his new bald cut is for the film Fjord, co-starring The Worst Person in the World breakout Renate Reinseve. Stan was also asked about the meaning behind asterisk sign at the end of Thunderbolts*. To this, he simply replied that fans needed to see the film to find out. He also claimed that all the fan theories about the sign’s meaning, which he hadn’t “seen too many of” for his “own sanity,” were wrong.

Thunderbolts* premieres in theaters across the United States on May 2, 2025.
