What happens in the Weapons trailer?

The video opens with an eerie narration of how seventeen kids from one class go missing from their homes in the middle of the night. It introduces Emmy winner Julia Garner as the class’s homeroom teacher, who gets instantly bombarded with questions and suspicions from concerned parents who are convinced that she might be the reason for the kids’ disappearance. The trailer highlights the strange occurrences that Garner’s character will go through, as she gets haunted by her missing students.

Weapons is written and directed by Cregger, who is also serving as the producer. Joining Garner are Josh Brolin, Alden Ehrenreich, Austin Abrams, Cary Christopher, Benedict Wong, and Amy Madigan. It is produced by Roy Lee, Miri Yoon, J.D. Lifshitz, and Raphael Margules, with Michelle Morrissey and Josh Brolin set as executive producers.

When the project was first announced, it was described as “an interrelated, multistory horror epic” that is tonally being likened to Paul Thomas Anderson’s 1999 film Magnolia. The filmmaker’s creative team behind the camera includes director of photography Larkin Seiple, production designer Tom Hammock, editor Joe Murphy, and costume designer Trish Sommerville. The music is by Ryan Holladay, Hays Holladay, and Cregger.
