The R-rated horror-thriller now totals $122.5 million domestically after 10 days. It helped push the weekend box office to $146 million — the best final April frame since the pandemic. IMAX screenings generated $10.25 million in the second weekend alone. IMAX’s U.S./Canada total has reached $25.3 million, accounting for about 21% of Sinners’ domestic gross.

The Michael B. Jordan-led film is now the second-highest second weekend for an R-rated horror film after It ($60.1M) and holds the third-best second frame for Coogler after the Black Panther movies. The audience has shifted from the first weekend’s 43% female to 56% female in the second weekend, with increased turnout among the under-25 demographic. Diversity stats show 43% Black, 25% Caucasian, 17% Latino/Hispanic, and 11% Asian American viewers.

Internationally, Sinners has grossed $39.1 million, pushing its worldwide total to $161.6 million. It had an opening of $48 million in 3,308 theaters and has expanded to 3,347 theaters as of its second weekend. (via Box Office Mojo)

Sinners led the weekend box office. It was followed by the re-release of Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith and Amazon MGM’s The Accountant 2. Overall, Sinners surpassed several past horror records. It also helped push the domestic box office to one of its highest totals for a late-April weekend, behind only the Avengers weekends and the debut of Fast Five.

The film continues to outperform studio expectations and is playing well across regions, especially in the South. Its second-weekend Friday–Sunday breakdown was $13M Friday, $18.8M Saturday, and $13.2M Sunday.
