Hailee Steinfeld has given an update on Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse.
Steinfeld voices Gwen Stacy in Sony’s Spider-Verse franchise, which began in 2018 with Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. That movie was followed by a 2023 sequel, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, while a third movie is now in the works.
What is the new Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse update?
Speaking to MTV’s Josh Horowitz, Steinfeld confirmed that she’s begun recording her lines for Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse.
“We’re well into that thing,” she said.
Steinfeld added, “Listen, that’s the thing. You’ve got to trust the process. If there’s one thing I’ve learned with that, it’s that. You put it in their hands and you’re going to end up with something masterful. You just got to go with it.”
While details for Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse remain under wraps at this time, the film will conclude the story that began in Across the Spider-Verse. That movie ended with Miles Morales being trapped in an alternate universe. Gwen, meanwhile, has assembled a team — including herself, Peter B. Parker, Mayday Parker, Spider-Man India, Spider-Punk, Spider-Byte, Spider-Man Noir, Peni Parker, and Spider-Ham to go save him.
Beyond the Spider-Verse is directed by Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson, while the screenplay comes from Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and David Callaham. Lord and Miller produce the movie alongside Amy Pascal, Avi Arad, and Jinko Gotoh.
In addition to Steinfeld, the voice casts of the previous Spider-Verse movies include Shameik Moore as Miles Morales, Brian Tyree Henry as Jeff Morales, Lauren Vélez as Rio Morales, Jake Johnson as Peter B. Parker, Jason Schwartzman as The Spot, Issa Rae as Jess Drew, Karan Soni as Spider-Man India, Daniel Kaluuya as Spider-Punk, Oscar Isaac as Spider-Man 2099, and more.
Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse will be released in United States theaters on June 4, 2027, from Sony Pictures Releasing.
