Despite being an original character, specifically written for Disney+’s Daredevil: Born Again, Genneya Walton’s BB has established her place as a formidable foe for Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin. In fact, the actress recently revealed that her character actually has plans to effectively take down the mob boss-turned-politician in the long run.
Genneya Walton on how BB plans to deal with Kingpin in Daredevil: Born Again
In a recent discussion, the Never Have I Ever star explained her character BB’s motivation behind embarking on a mission to expose the corrupt ways of Kingpin in Daredevil: Born Again.
While highlighting BB’s drive to get the truth out in front of the public, just like the deceased uncle of her character, Genneya Walton noted that the modern-day reporter is “playing the long game” against Wilson Fisk.
During her recent conversation with Inverse, the actress pointed out BB’s beliefs in Daredevil: Born Again. She stated, “I find her level of integrity and sacrifice very admirable. She shared a quote with Daniel from her uncle about ‘“speaking truth to power,”’ because she’s aware of the powers that she’s up against, and the risks that she’s taking. Despite that, she knows the importance of the truth being out there regardless of the consequences.”
Walton then remarked how BB will continue to carry forward her uncle’s legacy in Daredevil: Born Again, saying, “She’s playing the long game, truly. She’s definitely carrying the torch and trying to finish what her uncle couldn’t.” For the unversed, BB is the niece of Ben Urich, a righteous journalist, who featured in Netflix’s Daredevil series. Played by Vondie Curtis-Hall, Urich lost his life at the hands of the Kingpin due to his dedication to disclose New York City’s rampant corruption.
While Genneya Walton’s BB will return in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, she remained coy about her arc in the sequel installment. The actress simply stated, “There’s not really much I can say.” Meanwhile, the follow-up season is currently expected to come out on Disney+ in Spring 2026.
