President Donald Trump at one point during his ABC interview attacked Terry Moran and said he picked him for the interview because he had never heard of him. “I picked you because, frankly, I never heard of you, but that’s OK. But you are not being very nice,” Trump said when he was confronted over the deportation of Abrego Garcia, a Maryland man who was sent to El Salvador as the Trump administration asserted that he is a member of the MS-13 gang.
The chaos started when Terry told Trump that he could get him back just by a phone call. “I could,” Trump said. “You could pick it up and with all the power of the presidency, you could call up the President of El Salvador and say, ‘Send him back’,” Terry said.
“And if he were the gentleman that you say he is, I would do that,” Trump added. “But he is not.”
“I’m not the one making this decision,” Trump said, adding that he says government lawyers do not want to help bring Abrego Garcia back to the US.
Then Trump said the letters ‘M’, ‘S, ‘1’, ‘3’ are tattooed on his knuckles which Terry called photoshopped. “Hey, Terry. Terry, Terry. Don’t do that… It says M-S-1-3,” Trump said. Moran then responded: “That was Photoshopped.”
“That was Photoshopped? Terry, you can’t do that… hey, they’re giving you the big break of a lifetime. You know, you’re doing the interview. I picked you because frankly I never heard of you, but that’s okay,” Trump said.
Moran said that design in the tattoos can be interpreted that way but then Trump said, “Terry, no, no. No, no. He had MS as clear as you can be. Not interpreted.”
What is the truth of Garcia’s tattoos?
A few days ago, Donald Trump shared a photo of Garcia’s knuckles — tattooed with a marijuana leaf, a smiley face, a cross and a skull. According to many, these symbols stand for M, S, 1 and 3. But the photo Trump shared had the very letters M,S,1 and 3 written on the top of each symbol. While many thought that was part of the tattoo, it was actually meant for explanation.
In fact, Trump in the ABC interview claimed that MS-13, the very letters, are written on Garcia’s knuckles and not just interpretation.
